Located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Puerto Aventuras is perfectly situated for day trips to Merida, Coba, Cozumel or other local attractions. A 9 hole golf course, soon to be 18, (under construction), is one of the many activities offered along with diving (open water and Cenote), snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking, tennis, deep-sea fishing and bicycle tours. Akumal is located about forty-five minutes south of Playa Del Carmen and twenty minutes south of Puerto Aventuras. It is divided into sub areas of Akumal, Akumal Bay, Aventuras Akumal, and South Akumal. This area was settled and developed by Don Pablo Bush and home to some of the prettiest beaches and best diving in the Yucatan Peninsula.
